The Ascendant Tongue
I find their monuments at altitude—mountains shaped like faces. Thousands of steps carved directly into the slope lead here. Colossal, distinct, forgotten. Not copies. Not gods. Simply egos lost to time.
The scale is inhuman, but the instinct is not. They stare into oblivion as if expecting an answer that will never come. Glyphs spiral along the stone, worn past translation. Whatever message they carried has outlived both speaker and listener.
I documented the largest.
It says nothing.
But it is still saying it.
